Once More With Feeling !

Dans cet episode toute la ville de Sunnydale se met subitement a chanter et a danser sans raison apparente. Et en plus de ca, tandis qu'ils chantent ils ne peuvent s'empecher de dire exactement ce qu'ils ont au fond d'eux-memes et sont incapables de mentir. Le Scooby Gang est egalement touche par ce syndrome et se mettent tous a chanter, revelant ainsi la verite sur beaucoup de choses qui va avoir de grandes consequences dans les episodes suivants notamment Tabula Rasa. Il va s'averer qu'a force de reveler la verite les gens se mettent a bruler en dansant comme des fous. La bande va decouvrir que c'est l'oeuvre d'un demon nomme Sweet qui pense que c'est Dawn qui l'a invoque. Il veut donc en faire sa reine et l'enleve. Mais en realite c'est Alex qui l'a invoque et Sweet va partir apres avoir seme la pagaille dans le groupe...

Cette idee trottait dans la tete de Joss Whedon depuis un long moment et c'est donc naturel que ca ait ete lui qui redige cet episode et le realise egalement. Il y avait plusieurs annees que Joss revait d'introduire un episode musical a sa serie phare et quelques acteurs dont Anthony Stewart Head (Giles) lui avaient deja demande quand il mettrait son projet a execution. C'est desormais chose faite !
Il savait qu'Anthony S. Head et James Marsters (Spike) chantaient regulierement dans des groupes de rock et qu'Amber Benson (Tara) avait une tres belle voix. Nicholas Brendon (Alex), Emma Caulfield (Anya) et Alyson Hannigan (Willow) avaient demande a ne pas trop chanter, Alyson Hannigan avait meme demande a Joss si il ne pouvait pas coller a Willow une maladie qui l'empecherait de chanter !! Michelle Trachtenberg (Dawn) voulait surtout danser et elle a eu droit a une superbe scene de danse. Quant a Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy), apres avoir pris des cours de chant pendant 1 mois et demi, elle a tres bien reussi et s'est meme revelee etre la meilleure danseuse d'apres Joss Whedon !

Buffy n'a toujours pas avoue a ses amis qu'elle ne se trouvait pas en enfer lorsqu'elle etait morte et qu'elle se sentait bien la ou elle etait. Seul Spike connait son secret. Et elle n'en peut plus de devoir vivre comme ca. Elle a l'impression d'etre une machine et c'est de ca dont parle "Going through the motion".

Dans cette chanson, le Scooby Gang expose les theories qu'ils ont sur ce qui aurait pu provoquer les chants. Anya a une theorie tres rock'n roll sur les lapins mais Buffy rassure tout le monde en disant qu'ensemble ils s'en sortiront car c'est ce qu'ils ont toujours fait.
